One of the other challenge of Journey was to generate the track base on the live wagon.
On some shots the wagon and characters was full CG, but most of the time we need to work with a plante a static wagon. My system need create the tracks matching the wheel position. First the wagon was tracking using Boujou, so I can use the wheel position to create each frames an plane of contact with a theoretical track.
After moving the camera, all this planes connect together create the track using my track builder system. After create the environment, you have the feeling on a true movement.
