As a french artist, I got food development assignment, again :-)
The chopping vegetable system was a good candidate for my transition from Maya to Houdini. The vegetable was pre-slice by modeling. My rig in Houdini was release the slice base on location on the knife.
The second part, the soup cooking was a mix of Maya and Houdini. Maya was use for liquide simulation using nParticles, the steam using fluid simulation. Houdini was use for the other parts: meshing, bubbles, floating vegetable,…
